Design and implimentation of a low cost, high frequency load cell system while working for the OSU Prototype Development Lab.
https://research.engr.oregonstate.edu/protodevlab/
Low cost system designed to reach a minimum of 2000 load cell readings per second, per client's request.
Electronics Design:
- Three seperate Teensy 4.0 microcontrollers for increased throughput
- External Analog-to-digital-conveter module for up to 30k samples per second
- Calibration sequence and plotting using pyserial to compile information from the three microcontrollers
Mechanical Design:
- Load cells sized for maximum force with a 1.5 Factor of Safety
- Housing designed for electronics in Solidworks
